Intended to be flexible, here is the rough route plan (italics are late additions, strikethroughs are dropped destinations):
- Ecuador: Mid-August – mid-September
- Peru: Mid-September – early-October
- Boliva: Mid-October
- Chile: Late-October – mid-November
- Argentina: Late-October – mid-December
- South Africa/Namibia/Botswana/Zambia/Swaziland/Mozambique: Mid-December – mid-February
- Tanzania/Kenya: Mid-Feb – mid-March
- India/Nepal/Bhutan: Mid-March – mid-May
- Indonesia/Thailand/Laos - Mid-May – June (if $$ holds out…)
Yup, that’s a full itinerary. Likely, most of those dates (and even countries) will change.
Now, when are YOU going to come visit us?

What an adventure you’ve embarked on! I’m sorry I won’t be seeing you, Ted, at the Adventure Travel World Summit this year, but it sounds as though you’re living adventure travel, not just talking about it. Have a great trip! I look forward to following you vicariously through your posts.

Hi Sarah,
I stumbled upon your website through facebook. It looks like you and Ted had some amazing travel experiences (the architecture, mountains, food in India – amazing!). If you happen to take another trip and are able to visit Zambia within the next year or two, please stop in for a visit! You know, I’ve never been to Colorado, but if I make it there one day, I will look you up
